Weather Make-up Day
 
Dear Parents & Guardians:

In order to minimize the impacts of the latest school closure and to make up for the lost time of instruction, HSI-Waco Administration decided to forego the previously scheduled Staff Development / Student Holiday / Bad Weather Make-Up Day on Monday, February 19. We will have school on Monday, February 19.

This day will now be used as a day of learning, as we are committed to doing everything we can to support students and their instruction in what has already been a challenging academic year.

Dear Counselors:

 

It is you most of all in schools who convince young people that where they come from does not dictate their future—that every student should treasure their background as a gift to share. So often, your office is a respite for a young person who for whatever reason feels they do not fit in.
In keeping with those principles, last week the College Board took action to make sure students from Africa, Haiti, and Central America know they are welcome at our colleges.
Our action has been amplified by CNN and The Washington Post, and our great partner ETS has joined us and matched our donation to the African Leadership Academy. We will also announce contributions to support students in Haiti and El Salvador in the coming days.

GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) Announcement!

Harmony Gifted & Talented Education

In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students, Harmony Public Schools will begin taking nominations for all interested students in grades 1-12 for gifted and talented screening. Anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may nominate them for assessment.

Nomination forms are available at the front office, or may be downloaded below. The forms must be returned to the front office by Friday, February 9, 2018. Assessment will begin on Monday, February 5, 2018. For more information about the screening and identification process, parents may contact the school’s GT Coach/teacher.
